Ready for Christmas

 This little handsome fella is one of the easiest fosters to pose because he listens so well.

He is just darn perfect. He's fluffy, well behaved, and cute as a button!

Sparky and the cat

 Now that he's growing into his own skin, he's showing some more personality. He doesn't attack the cat, which is good. But when he walks by, he definitely takes note and perks up his ears and stands up and wags his tail.

 Unlike the other pups which, when he gets jealous he'll start barking and hog "us". He just does this airy whining when the cat is ignoring him and paces the floor uncomfortably when the cat is on the couch and he's on the floor. lol

He's slowly realizing the cat doesn't play. And that's okay. He's slowly learning to "leave it" and "enough" when he persists in whining or when he's jealous to share his space.

Smart little Sparky

It is safe to confirm that I know all my commands and I am great off leash. There was one time I fluttered off after a bunny...But I didn't get far before I heard a yell...And I guess I wasn't suppose to run after it.

I do love my foster mom and she is my favorite...So I get jealous when my brothers come around. I'm working on sharing spaces and not being territorial because it's not nice. And I don't want to be on the naughty list before Christmas.

What Sparky is thankful for

 I am thankful for a yard I can roam and a warm home to go back to and a soft bed to cuddle with the family. I am grateful for the love my foster family provides (it helps that I'm cute of course).

I love that slowly but surely, my cough has finally gone away. Now nothing is stopping me from fun and games!

Sparky and his cough

 Well I think it's safe to say he has kennel cough, he was coughing for so long I didn't know if it was something worse.

However, it has gotten better but lingering a bit. He coughs much less frequently and when he's calm, he can go for long periods without having a fit.

We can go for a morning or night without giving cough syrup. Sometimes he just coughs for awhile and I give it to him so he's not struggling.

Definitely graduated from our sleepless nights and waking up with him every hour until the sun came up that first couple weeks!

Now that it's getting colder and drier, it may be more easily aggravated. Plus he's never seen winter....More to come!

Sparky's new hair cut

 I know it's starting to get cooler and he comes from down south, but his fur was getting way too cluttered around his face.

 His history of fleas also leaves his rump and legs with stained fur, so cutting it will slowly bring his beautiful fluffy white back.

His face is too cute to be covered! He's free!

Cuddlemania

 I know everyone always wants puppies. But there is such grace and love I get from older dogs. Maybe because I have a 9 year old and an 11 year old of my own and they have the energy of a lifetime and I don't see them as "old".

Sparky has a nasty cough, and it hurts to watch his coughing spells. But his level of devotion to show you he's still got spunk and will follow you to the end of the earth is just amazing. His wagging tail, his dire need to follow you and make sure he knows where you are.

The way he plops down or jumps up to sit or lay beside you when you settle in. That peering into your soul look he has.

He's fuzzy, he's energetic, he's wise and trained AND potty trained. This is my first foster who comes knowing sit, down, stay, come, and up. That is MASSIVE!!

He is just perfect and hassle free. He's the perfect cuddle size. Perfect pick me up size. He's got a hot tummy so he makes for a wonderful compress and heater during those cold nights. lol

He knows all the tricks!!

It is absolutely amazing to have a 9 year old foster because he already knows all the tricks!! Don't mind his kennel cough, we're working on getting him well from this virus. Even though he has it, he doesn't miss a beat. He's just great.

Mastering the "chill" mode

 I definitely have some energy when I'm curious or sniffing around the house. But when I get a little riled up, I aggravate my cough so, right now, it's not ideal.

As long as I'm next to the "rents", I'm perfectly content laying down. I've mastered the chill mode. Especially when there's a comfy pillow around.

I think I can get use to this life. Seems pretty good. I eat, I potty, and I nap.

Meeting the cat

So.....I met the cat....no big deal. It's a cat. I don't know what the hype was? Were they hoping for a bigger reaction?

Welcome Sparky

 I have arrived! The car ride was chill, I just found circled couple times and curled up til the ride was done.

I came from Alabama with a kennel cough I've been battling for a month now since 9/23. It got pretty bad that first week and it was touch and go, but I'm on the mend. Thank goodness!

Since I came with kennel cough, I was isolated from my fellow dogs so coming home was weird meeting other dogs. It's something I will have to work on. I don't think I have a good greeting down yet, and my barking isn't working either. lol

I am 9 years old, so I come bearing a good foundation. I follow my fosters around and don't go wondering off. I know when to stop a behavior when they tell me no. I am potty trained, which I am told is a great feature to be adopted.
